我個人覺得下面這些語句應該是與佛法相應的。對於一味迷信祈求神跡救贖的人們，
這些語句也許可以令大家從另一個角度重新檢視思考。我很想知道在佛教的經律中是
否也有類似或相近的說法？希望法友們能夠提供相關資料。謝謝。

“Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in 
facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart
to conquer it.” ? Rabindranath Tagore, Collected Poems and Plays of 
Rabindranath Tagore

Phillips Brooks (1835 - 1893): Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be 
stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers 
equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but 
you shall be the miracle.

John F. Kennedy at 11th Annual Presidential Prayer Breakfast, Washington, 
D.C., Feb. 7, 1963: "Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men."

的確這樣的例子蠻多的，佛陀通常是給大家釣竿，而不是給一條魚。

例如《雜阿含經》第1100經記載佛陀教導比丘遇到魔擾時不要驚慌失措，正念繫心於
佛而不為所動，覺察到異象是魔所幻化，魔自知無趣，便會退去。

本經中佛陀沒有幫比丘趕走魔，而是教他如何對治。不只給他一條魚，而是給他釣竿
，這樣子比丘才能真正地超越魔境。
