請問一下,密教的英文是不是就翻成Esoteric Buddhism?
下面是東亞佛學名相辭典節錄下來:(抱歉有亂碼)

又,Shingon一詞應該是日文-"真言"而來,那麼在日本所傳的真言宗,有什麼主要的特色呢?
(和在中國的不同處?)

末學聽過這種翻法
but i don't think it's a proper translation.
因為"esoteric" 這個字有點特殊的暗示
建議直接用tantra （密續）字的變化來翻比較好
       -->   trantric Buddhism
假如你指的事藏傳佛教
那就直接用Tibetan Buddhism

至於密乘其實就等於金剛乘
也常常看到  Vajra vehicle這種翻法
