Annoucement and invitation of papers for the

Web Journal of Korean Buddhist Studies

As a new addition to my Web page of East Asian Buddhist resources, I am
happy to announce the establishment of a WWWeb page devoted to the access of
articles on Korean Buddhism. Articles may be presented in English, Korean,
Japanese, English/Japanese or English/Korean. They will be displayed on the
Web page:

 http://www2.gol.com/users/acmuller/korbud.htm

All serious articles on topics in Korean Buddhism written in proper
scholarly format are welcome. Please observe the following conditions:

1) Articles may be submitted by floppy disk, FTP, E-mail attachment or any
other electronic means available. If you want to send a hard copy to make
sure there are no mistakes, you may do so.

2) I am currently capable of doing editing for HTML in English, Korean and
Japanese DOS/Windows environments. Thus, I can prepare your document for
HTML-TEXT format to some extent, but the more you can do yourself, the
easier it will be for me, and the more likely you are to see your article
displayed as you like it. If you are not able to provide your document
pre-formatted for HTML, please submit it according to the following formats.

a) For English-only documents, any major DOS/Windows word processing format
(WordPerfect, Word, AmiPro, etc.) should be OK. Of course DOS/ASCII text is
a universally acceptable format, but you will lose your italics and
boldface, etc., so if you can't do HTML yourself, major word processing
format is better.

b) For Korean-only or mixed Korean-English, any software that is convertible
by the Korean Windows 3.1 version of Write. This of course includes most
major DOS/Windows software. In the near future, I will have a more
comprehensive Korean system, and this small limitation should be overcome.

c) For Japanese-only or mixed Japanese-English, any major DOS/Windows word
processing format.

3) Notes: All notes must be in Endnote format, and must be included as part
of the regular text, and not as part of the endnoting function of the word
processing program. Please use the format in my presently-displayed articles
as a sample. Please also include bibliographies if you would like to do so.

4) Since the Internet currently supports very few diacritical characters
(none for those used for romanizing Korean), you must, unfortunately, remove
all of your diacriticalized characters and replace them with plain roman
characters. If you do not do this, they will disappear upon conversion to HTML.

Being a brand-new project as this is, it is not likely to be very
competitive for some time, and so it is a great opportunity for young
scholars to have their work made known. So please don't hesitate to contribute.

If there is something that I have missed here, or if you have any comments,
suggestions or any other kind of feedback, please drop me a line at
acmuller@gol.com.

Best regards,

Charles Muller
