I got your mail from David Chiou. It seems that your background is similar to Philip Kapleau. I do have a copy of Phil's Heart Sutra chanting tape which I got when I attended his weekend retreat in Chung Yen Monastery. Personally I feel it's a masterpiece in English. I assume you have it. If not, let me know. Either you can contact them directly and get the latest copy or I would be more than happy to send you one for your reference. > We have a small and growing Buddhist temple I founded in Tucson since > moving from the San Francisco area several years ago. We stress the > universal outlook of Buddhism, especially omitofo and quanyin. I just moved from Allentown PA to San Francisco CA in September this year. In fact, I just got my phone connected last week. A Buddhist can dress like Japanese Ninja or Texas Cowboy. Look is deceiving. It's the mind that counts. KuanYin or Virocana, regardless. Theravada, Mahayana, Vajnaya, same difference. Shawn, originally from PA, now from CA. Best Regards, Shawn |
