（信區的設定等事項）  for your reference.

基本上據我所知，現在分為兩個階段：

1. 不花錢的階段：

    只要借到一台工作站或是 24 小時連上 InterNet 的 PC ，
就可以架站了，這在台灣到處可見，隨便一個地下室或是宿舍
就有學生以這種方式架設 BBS 。

    現在這種 BBS 在台灣是主流。（雖然說技術層面不高，
但是是大多數人的選擇。）在美國這種 BBS 不流行，
而且美國的管制比較嚴，不像台灣隨便都可以架站，
但是只要有人願意提供工作站或 ip address 就可以架，
只是不像台灣那麼隨興就可以架。

    這個階段，如果我們在美國開立了一個中文的 BBS 站，
那麼對象將是常常從美國 telnet 回台灣的華僑（為數不少），
不限於學佛者。

    我們已有充份的軟體支援（ kftseng 學長是中興 BBS
前任站長、協助架設中正 BBS 等），最主要的瓶頸是在
美國本土借一台電腦。


2. 花錢的階段：

    如果前一階段成功了，並且有人有 MODEM ，想要撥接上來的話，
我們可以再加上 MODEM 以及數據機，讓沒有 InterNet 帳號的人
可以直接撥上來。

    這就要花錢了，而且我目前無法明確定位使用者的族群（有待大家討論），
所以基本上短期（幾個月）內只須進行相關的調查及評估，看看值不值得，
並參考前一階段使用者的定位，以避免不必要的金錢花費。

    以台灣來說， BBS 有兩種：InterNet BBS ，以及撥接式 BBS ，
兩者是分隔的（除了少數的商業站台以外）。如果能完成這個階段
的架設，那麼這個 BBS 將能兩者通吃。但是就必須有在美國的人專職
照顧硬體了。


    所以，就世俗上的投資報酬率（花的人力、物力相對於服務到的群眾）來說，
第一階段是穩賺不賠，第二階段還不確定。
