Mr. Ka Ping Yee, from the Waterloo University in Canada have released
a very neat software tool to read texts encoded in Japanese. This tool
convert Japanese characters to small GIFs, so this allow people without
a Japanese environment to read it without (almost any) trouble. The
trade off is that as all characters are transformed to GIF images,
the performance is not very good, but it works and it can be the
poor man's Japanese text reader. 

How to use it? It is very simple. Just put this CGI before any
link you want to access in Japanese:

http://csclub.uwaterloo.ca/u/kryee/nph-shodouka.cgi/

So if you want to access this following Japanese text in my page:
http://www2.gol.com/users/claude/doc/shin_jap.html

you should access it using it as:

http://csclub.uwaterloo.ca/u/kryee/nph-shodouka.cgi/http://www2.gol.com/users/claude/doc/shin_jap.html
(This should be in only one line.)

Long texts can be extremely slow and frustating... But it works.
