在印導圓寂兩年後，
總算找到一篇以英文語系專文研究印導思想的論文，
此篇論文主要討論主題正是印導最被爭議的淨土思想詮釋，
文中引述印導在《淨土與禪》的一段話也值得深思：

    If one overlooks the realization of reasoning, one will not
     fulfill all that can be gained from the Buddha virtue.
    Therefore, if people especially emphasize the Western Pure
    Land, they have to awaken faith in the Buddha virtues. They
     do not understand the true meaning of Buddhism and so become
     the same as those theisms that emphasize faith alone.

    （忽略了理性的徹悟，即不能實現果德的一切。所以特重西方淨土，
    　不能不專重依果德而起信。不解佛法真意的，不免與一般神教的唯
    　重信仰一樣了。）

佛教的信仰如果忽略了理性的省思，
那確實和一神教專重信仰沒什麼兩樣，
而這也絕非世尊所樂見的吧。
