CH'AN(ZEN) MEDITATION BEGINNER'S CLASSES

          Dharma Drum Mountain Monastery                                  
          10F., 27 An Ho Road, Sec.1
          Taipei, Taiwan


        These classes are taught by Venerable Guo Yen, affiliated with
Venerable Sheng Yen's organization, Dharma Drum Mountain.  Venerable Sheng Yen
has a Ph.D. in Buddhist studies from Riso University in Japan, and is the abbot
of Nung Ch'an Monastery and Temple and the founder of the Chung Hwa Institute
of Buddhist Studies, both in Peitou.  He is also the founder of the Dharma
Drum Mountain Monastery and education complex in Northwest Taiwan and the
Ch'an Meditation Center of New York City.  Venerable Sheng Yen has recevied
transmission in the Soto and Rinzo schools of Zen.  Venerable Guo Yeh is from
New York and will teach the class in English.  He will provide information on
methods and techniques of meditation practice.  The fee for the calss is
N.T.$200.
